The flu season is bad. If you have gone the flu shot route in your office, you may think your team is protected, but the truth is, that vaccine really only protects against 25% of the strains out there.
So what's an employee to do?!
Notoriously offices and schools are tough places to stay well, but there are some things you can do to protect yourself and your peeps from falling to the flu...
P E R S O N A L L Y
- Amp your immune system : add in some supplements like a good quality probiotic and a multivitamin. Add in things like zinc, D3, olive leaf, oregano oil, turmeric, and ginger. - Wash up : wash your hands more than you think necessary. Use hand Sanitiser regularly. - Don't touch your friends' computer! : Germs live longer on hard surfaces than porous ones. So you might be better off touching a dirty tissue than touching someone else's computer. - Keep your germs to yourself : stay home and away from others if you're feeling poorly.
- Urge alone time : encourage a work-from-home policy for those that feel even slightly under the weather. This is huge to stop the spread of illness. - Give 'em a hand (sanitizer) : provide employees with personal hand sanitizer bottles. And keep it handy around the office for liberal use throughout the day. - No Flu Friday : office-wide clean-up! Use those wipes and encourage a deep clean of employee personal space. Make sure you get those computer keypads, mice, phones, pens, doorknobs.

We can all agree - the flu is no fun. So, help your employees stay well this season! And don't forget the little things that help the immune system stay strong - like happiness and laughter. True story, people that identify as "happy" are less likely to get sick. In these tedious winter months, it's important to infuse some fun into the office atmosphere.
